Taking an interview
How to start, what you need, and what to do when you finish.
Start from the invitation
Apployent sends the invitation from noreply@apployent.com. The link looks like this:
https://apployent.com/guest/interview?invitation=…
Do not open the message or click the link if the sender is not that address, or if the link is not on apployent.com/guest/interview. Only continue if you applied to that job and you recognize the company. You can start and finish from that link. An Apployent account is not required.
What to expect
The interview runs in your browser. There is no live interviewer on the call. The company chose the questions and the format. Read each prompt, follow the on-screen instructions, and submit when you are done.
Most sessions ask you to work through a short exercise related to the role, then explain your reasoning. That might include reviewing material (for example a document or a piece of work), answering situational questions, or completing a task in the browser. There are no trick questions or trivia. The invitation email usually lists the format and an estimated time.
Set aside enough time to finish in one sitting. If the session has a time limit, it will be shown to you there.
What you need
- The invitation link.
- A current browser on a computer you can type on comfortably.
- A quiet stretch of time you can finish without stopping.
Some sessions ask for camera or microphone access before you begin. Allow what the screen asks for. If those permissions stay blocked, you may not be able to continue.
When you finish
Submit in the session. The company that invited you receives your responses. You do not need to send a separate email or upload a file unless they ask.
If something goes wrong
If the interview does not open, try the same invitation again in the same browser. Once you are in the session, use Contact Us for a technical problem. A missing or expired link, or any question about the role, should go to the company who invited you. More on contact.
